The Quiet Invasion of Our Classrooms:

How LGBTQ+ Themed School Days are Shaping Young Minds

In a recent social media discovery, I stumbled upon a post that both baffled and alarmed me. It showcased a school calendar filled with days dedicated to promoting and teaching about LGBTQ+ issues. Let’s dissect why this is troubling from an educational and societal standpoint.

Structure Thoughts and Ideas Independently.

First and foremost, education's primary role is to equip students with the ability to structure their thoughts and ideas independently. It's not about spoon-feeding them what to think regarding specific topics. This list of LGBTQ+ themed days, therefore, strays far from the core principles of education. Its inclusion in the curriculum appears less about intellectual development and more about a blatant attempt at indoctrination.

Think Critically and Explore Independently.

Secondly, proper education teaches students to think critically and explore independently. If they're truly curious about a topic, they'll seek it out. Take me, for example. I don't identify as gay nor do I actively support the community, but I find its history and evolution, particularly events like Stonewall, intriguing from both historical and religious perspectives. My interest led me to research these topics independently, using skills honed through formal education and life experience, rather than being guided by a government-imposed curriculum.

This approach ensures an unbiased exploration. My journey begins with a question and follows a path shaped solely by my curiosity, free from external influence.

Beware of Educators

This leads to an important point: beware of educators who don't have your child’s best interests at heart. Teachers who find such thematic lists appealing and integrate them into their lesson plans are not suitable for shaping young minds. Realistically, removing such educators from the system is a Herculean task, so the next best solution? Take control of your child’s education.

It’s Time to be Uncomfortable.

Parents may not want to hear this, but home education is a viable solution. It might mean embracing discomfort and possibly downsizing, but the end result—a well-rounded, independently thinking individual—is unquestionably worth it. The road to reclaiming education from the clutches of those who would use it to push their agenda is tough, but it's a journey we must embark on for the sake of our children’s intellectual freedom.
